C-USA football standings 2012: Central Florida tops East Division

The Central Florida Knights lead the Conference USA East Division after knocking off East Carolina.

After a 40-20 win over East Carolina, the Central Florida Knights jumped to the top of the Conference USA East Division. With a 1-0 record in conference play, UCF is tied with Memphis in first place.

UCF is 3-2 overall, with its two losses coming against teams from power conferences. The Knights lost, 31-16, at No. 14 Ohio State on Sept. 8, and fell to Missouri at home, 21-16, on Sept. 29. Memphis is tied at the top of the division despite a 1-4 record overall. The Tigers defeated Rice, 14-10, on Saturday to earn their first win of the year.

In the West Division, Tulsa leads the way with a 3-0 record in conference games. The Golden Hurricane have won five games in a row after a season-opening 38-23 loss at Iowa State. Houston and SMU are tied for second in the West with 1-0 C-USA records.
