The Florida Gators will look to continue their excellent 2012 season against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The No. 6 Gators (8-1, 7-1) are coming off of a hard-fought win over one of the new SEC members, the Missouri Tigers, 14-7. In that contest, Florida was only able to amass 276 total yards of offense, but won anyway on the strength of its defense.
Will Muschamp's defensive unit held the Tigers to only seven points, largely due to them forcing four turnovers at key times.
While it appears the Gators will have a tough time playing their way into a chance at the national championship, all hope isn't lost. If they can get to the SEC title game and topple the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida would have to at least be considered.
As for the Ragin' Cajuns, they are bringing a 5-3 mark and a solid offense with them. In their eight games this season, LA-Lafayette has scored at least 23 points, including 40 or more points on four occasions.
