With the season dwindling to a close, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights remain in control of the Big East Conference with the Louisville Cardinals being the only other team within striking distance.
The (8-1) Rutgers have only dropped one game on the season, but it was an out of conference game. However, the team has three more games on the season, all of which being conference games. The last of which is against Louisville, the only other team with four wins in conference play.
If Rutgers drops one of their following two games and Louisville can take care of business next week, the two teams will enter their scheduled game tied for the lead in conference play. The winner of the game would win the conference.
The Cincinnati Bearcats also have a chance to claim the conference title, but are chasing two teams as opposed to one. Like Louisville, they too only have one loss in conference play.
With all that being said, the USF Bulls can do nothing but look on from the basement of the Big East. The Bulls are 1-4 in conference play with two more conference games on their schedule.
