College Basketball Scores: Florida Gulf Coast beats Miami (FL), 63-51

Miami (FL) is now 1-1 following a loss to the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.

Florida Gulf Coast 63 - Miami (FL) 51

This was a disappointing loss for the Hurricanes, who shot just 29 percent from the field. The Eagles shot 49 percent, despite going just 1-for-11 from behind the arc. Gulf Coast went on a 23-2 run in the first half, which gave them a comfortable lead for most of the game.

Jacksonville 78 - Trinity Baptist 48

The Dolphins and Eagles played a close first half, with JU leading 37-30 at halftime. But Jacksonville ran away with this game in the second half, outscoring Trinity Baptist 41-18. Jarvis Haywood led the way for the Dolphins with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Stetson 88 - Florida A&M 66

The Hatters jumped out to a huge first-half lead in this contest and never looked back. Adam Pegg scored 10 points in the first half (19 overall), helping Stetson to a 49-28 halftime lead. The Rattlers managed to close the gap a bit in the second half, but never mounted a real comeback. Muhammad Abdul-Aleem was Florida A&M's leading scorer, with 20 points.

Mississippi State 78 - Florida Atlantic 58

The FAU Owls shot just 33.3 percent from the field against the tough Bulldogs defense. Florida Atlantic is now 0-2 on the season. Greg Gantt was the leading Owl, with 17 points and four rebounds.
