Meredith left the locker room on crutches after suffering an ankle injury.

Tampa Bay right guard Jamon Meredith injured his ankle in Wednesday's Tampa Bay Bucs practice, according to 620 WDAE radio in Tampa. Meredith left the locker room on crutches. His injury was the second on the Tampa offensive line, as left guard Jeremy Zuttah missed Wednesday's practice with a shoulder injury. A shoulder injury also held out defensive end Michael Bennett.

On a more positive note, wide receiver Arrelious Benn (shoulder) and free safety Cody Grimm (hamstring) practiced fully. Cornerback Eric Wright (Achilles) was limited in his participation. Benn missed Tampa's win over San Diego last Sunday after injuring himself against the Raiders the previous week.

The big injury news out of Tampa, however, continues to be the neck injury suffered by linebacker Quincy Black. The Bucs placed Black on injured reserve Tuesday, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

"Quincy is upset," his agent Marc Lillibridge said. "He's never been on IR before, so that's always tough."

Black's prognosis is unclear at the moment, and doctors may have to wait until the swelling decreases around his neck before they can proceed.

"As far as the time frame, he'll get a second MRI sometime this week and get some more drugs and help him heal up," Lillibridge said.
