Thursday, November 15 boasts a sparse college basketball schedule, with the Ave Maria Gyrenes visiting the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. The Eagles are 1-1 so far, losing their opening game but bouncing back with a win against the Miami Hurricanes.
The Eagles dominated Miami in the paint, gaining a 40-14 edge. They also had a 40-32 advantage on rebounds, which helped make up for the 1 of 11 three-point shooting. The Eagles also held Miami to 29.1 percent shooting enroute to the 63-51 victory.
The Gyrenes are 3-0, but have two losses in exhibition games. They've averaged 95 points per game in their wins, but just 58 in their losses. FGCU will have to be careful in not looking past Ave Maria, as the Eagles have a huge challenge on their schedule, Sunday's game against No. 9 Duke.
Live audio, video and stats for the game should be available via the university website.
