Magic fall to Hawks

'The Atlanta Hawks broke open a close game with a dominating third quarter, outscoring the Orlando Magic 24-12 in the period. The Hawks took a 16-point lead into the final quarter and never looked bad.

Orlando's offense was almost non-existent. The Magic could only muster 72 points, shot 37.8% from the field (31-of-82), made just two three-pointers (20.0%) and turned the ball over 19 times. Atlanta's defense has been very good so far this season, but those numbers are still pathetic.

On the flip side, Atlanta didn't have a whole lot of success on the offensive end either. The Hawks shot just 38.2% from the field (34-of-89) and went five-of-25 from beyond the arc (20.0%). Forward Josh Smith was awful, scoring just six points on three-of-10 shooting.

Glen Davis was only slightly more efficient, scoring 11 points on five-of-13 shooting to go with seven rebounds. Center Nikola Vucevic finished with five points and 13 rebounds.

Former Florida Gator Al Horford led all scorers with 15 points on six-of-11 shooting. Guard Lou Williams added 14 points off of the bench.

The Magic will be back in action when they host the Detroit Pistons Wednesday night.
