NBA scores: Magic edge Cavaliers at home

The Magic earned themselves a much-needed win on Friday against the Cavaliers.

The Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-104 at the AmWay Center on Friday night.

Orlando (5-7) was trailing at five points by the half but rallied to enter the fourth quarter tied. Despite falling behind once again, the Magic were able to bounce back for the victory on the backs of Aaron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson.

Nelson had a terrific night with 22 points, six rebounds and six assists, all while making key buckets down the stretch. Afflalo was equally effective late, scoring 19 points of his own.

Cleveland received great efforts from Anderson Varejao and Dion Waiters in the loss. Varejao recorded another double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds while Waiters poured in 25.

Atlanta 101, Charlotte 91: The Hawks improved to 7-4 on the year with a gritty win over the vastly improved Bobcats on the road.

Al Horford led Atlanta with 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Jeff Teague chipped in with 13 points and 12 assists.

Charlotte got a nice game from Kemba Walker in a losing cause. The second-year guard from UConn scored 16 points to accompany nine assists. Ramon Sessions paced the Bobcats with 22 points.
