Florida vs. Florida State 2012: Reaction to the Gators' big win over the 'Noles in Tallahassee

The Gators bent the Seminoles to their will in the fourth quarter on Saturday, and Florida fans couldn't be much happier with the performance.

Florida capped off an 11-1 regular season with a dominant finish against Florida State on Saturday, outscoring their rivals, 24-6, in the final stanza.

While USC couldn't pull off the upset victory over Notre Dame across the country to give the Gators a shot at the BCS title game, Coach Will Muschamp's team will now most likely end up in the Sugar Bowl.

Naturally, the fourth-quarter performance that led Florida to its first BCS bowl since 2009 inspired a lot of positive reaction from the Gator faithful.

From SB Nation's Florida blog, Alligator Army:

But let's be honest: Florida made a very good Florida State team that had laid waste to much of its schedule on both offense and defense look, at times, a lot more like the team that wears that sickly orange than one that will likely head to the Orange Bowl.

Florida has heart, persistence, diligence, drive, intestinal fortitude, will: It has whatever noun you want to put in there to describe its resilience. In 2012, Florida never quits.

For now, the Gators will return home and await their postseason fate, cursing the Georgia Bulldogs and the USC Trojans - the only two things that kept Florida from a shot at the crystal football this year.

But Gator fans have certainly taken to heart that Saturday's performance - and the 2012 season - have announced to the college football world that Florida football is back to normal.
