In their quest to upset the seventh-ranked Florida Gators, the Missouri Tigers are leading 7-0 at halftime in a defensive battle.
The only score occurred after the Tigers defense forced a key fumble in Florida territory with a big hit on running back Mike Gillislee. The turnover led to a one-yard score by Kendial Lawrence, the first touchdown allowed by Florida at home in conference play.
Florida had its own opportunity to capitalize on a turnover when the Gators' defense intercepted quarterback James Franklin in Missouri territory. The Tigers, however, kept Florida off the board by blocking Caleb Sturgis' 47-yard field goal attempt.
The Gators are only 2-for-8 on third down and have 111 total yards. Florida's strong rushing attack is being held in check, amassing 54 yards on 15 carries.
Missouri has the edge in ball possession with the Tigers offense on the field for 17:27, compared to 12:30 for the Gators.
