Florida didn't make it look easy on Saturday, but the Gators scraped past Missouri and held on to their No. 7 ranking in the AP poll while Florida State moved up one spot to No. 8.
Florida State rested easily on their bye week and benefited from Alabama taking down LSU, as the Tigers' second loss of the season dropped them to number nine in the polls and bumped up the Seminoles to the number eight spot.
The Gators needed all the help they could get to grab the 14-7 victory over Missouri, but the win means that the two rivals are now on a collision course that will have serious BCS implications in the last week of the season. Should Florida take down the Seminoles in three weeks, the Gators might be all but assured of a BCS bowl berth, even if they do not make the SEC title game.
First, the Gators must get past Louisiana-Lafayette and Jacksonville State while the Seminoles hope to beat Virginia Tech and Maryland and wrap up the ACC Atlantic division.
