Having won two of their first three games to open the season, the Miami Heat welcome the Phoenix Suns to American Airlines Arena for an interesting early season showdown on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Heat, led by Chris Bosh's 23.7 points per game, have won their first two at home, topping the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets at home to open the year. The Heat's lone loss was to the New York Knicks, which were able to outlast the Celtics at Madison Square Garden despite LeBron James's 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
James has averaged 23 points per game in the Heat's first three, but it was Ray Allen who was responsible for Miami's victory over Denver, as the veteran guard nailed a corner three to seal the victory on Saturday.
The Suns (1-2) are coming off of a loss to the Orlando Magic, and recorded their lone victory of the year on Friday when they hosted the Detroit Pistons. Guard Goran Dragic leads the Suns with 16 points per game, while Marcin Gortat has been a force down low, collecting 12.5 boards per game in his first three.
