Entering last Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed to be in good position to make the playoffs as one of the wild card teams, but now, just two games later, the playoffs seem very unlikely for Greg Schiano's young squad, via Stephen Holder of The Tampa Bay Times.
As noted by Holder, Tampa Bay already needed quite a bit of good fortune from the teams they were chasing and that was before the two losses in many weeks.
The Buccaneers couldn't escape Denver with a victory over Peyton Manning and the Broncos, putting the team at 6-6 on the season. But the loss the team will look back on, if Tampa Bay cannot make their way into the postseason, was the one on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles that put the team at 6-7.
Tampa Bay's defense allowed two touchdowns in the final four minutes of the game to blow the game, the second of which came with one second remaining in the fourth, giving Philadelphia the victory.
