After compiling a 1.75 goals against average over the previous seven days, San Antonio Rampage goaltender Jacob Markstrom was named CCM/AHL player of the week on Monday. Markstrom plays for the NHL's Florida Panthers when the league isn't locked out.

San Antonio currently sits in 12th place in the Western Conference with a 10-11-0-3 record, but the Rampage went 4-0-0-0 last week, and the team has won six of its last seven games. During that stretch, Markstrom has allowed more than two goals in a game just once, and San Antonio's lone defeat came with Markstrom on the bench.

Markstrom, 22, played in seven games with the Panthers last season. He compiled a 92.3 save percentage and a 2.66 goals against average. He played in 32 games with the Rampage and tallied a 92.7 save percentage and a 2.32 goals against average.

The Rampage are the top minor-league affiliate for the Panthers.
