Utah State Aggies senior running back Kerwynn Williams will play in the 2013 East-West Shrine Game, the school announced Wednesday. Williams is the first Utah State player to participate in the game since De'von Hall in 2009.
Williams led a Utah State rushing attack that averaged nearly 192 yards per game this season. He finished the regular season with 1,277 yards rushing and 12 rushing touchdowns, both of which led the team. He led the WAC in rushing yards per game and averaged 6.4 yards per carry.
In addition to his efforts carrying the ball, Williams also led the Aggies in receiving with 663 yards and five touchdowns on 43 receptions. He is the school's all-time leader in all-purpose yards with 6,659. That number also ranks among the top 20 in NCAA history.
The 2013 East-West Shrine Game will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on Jan. 19. The NFL Network will televise the contest, which begins at 4 p.m. ET.
