Several players accepted invitations to play in the 2013 East-West Shrine Game, including Vanderbilt running back Zac Stacy and Temple running back Montel Harris. Players representing Florida, South Florida and Miami also are participating in this game.
Stacy ran for 1,034 yards in the regular season, which was the fifth-highest total in the Southeastern Conference. He also scored nine touchdowns on the ground. Harris also cracked the 1,000-yard mark this season and tied for second in the Big East in that category. His 12 touchdowns tied for first in the league.
Other players who accepted invites Friday include Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead, Pittsburgh running back Ray Graham, Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege, Louisiana Tech quarterback Colby Cameron and Mississippi State wide receiver Chad Bumphis, among others.
The 2013 Shrine Game will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Jan. 19. The game has been played since 1925.
