The Gamecocks are 10-2 overall and riding a four-game winning streak, including a season-ending win over rival Clemson. They rank just 87th nationally in total offense, but they are 12th in total defense, 13th in scoring defense and 15th in rushing defense.
Michigan's regular season ended with a loss to Ohio State, and the Wolverines head into the bowl game at 8-4. The Wolverines are No. 80 in total offense, though they are averaging 187.3 yards on the ground, which ranks 39th. They are No. 11 in total defense, 16th in scoring defense, and second in passing yards allowed per game.
The Outback Bowl is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Jan. 1. ESPN will televise the game.
