Although the playoffs are out of the question for the Jacksonville Jaguars, they'll still have a chance to play spoiler when they welcome the New England Patriots into EverBank Field on Sunday. A loss for the Patriots would completely dash their hopes of a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs as they sit in third place, a game behind the Denver Broncos. But the Jaguars are starting off their week of practice in bad shape.
Running backs Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) and Rashad Jennings (concussion) both missed practice on Wednesday with their respective injuries. Fullback Greg Jones sat out with a thigh injury, while center Brad Meester took the day off with a foot injury. Linebacker Paul Posluszny and defensive back Dwight Lowery also missed practice with a groin and foot injury respectively.
Five other Jaguars were limited in Wednesday's practice, all on the defensive side of the ball. Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu took it easy with a calf injury, as did cornerback Aaron Ross. Cornerback Derek Cox was limited with a hamstring injury, while Rashean Mathis wasn't at full speed because of a groin injury. Defensive end George Selvie hasn't fully recovered from a concussion and was limited on Wednesday.
