Magic, Lakers tied at the half

The Orlando Magic went toe-to-toe with the Los Angeles Lakers during the first half of Sunday's game.

After getting off to an excellent early start behind forward Glen Davis, the Orlando Magic trailed by four at the end of the first quarter. The Lakers pushed the lead to nine in the second half, but the Magic answered, outscoring the Lakers 19-10 over the last six minutes and 24 seconds of the quarter. The run was capped by a buzzer beating three by Los Angeles native (Compton) Arron Afflalo. Afflalo led the Magic with 14 points in the first half.

Davis had 12 points and six rebounds while guard J.J. Redick had 11 points off of the bench.

Dwight Howard had a rough start on the offensive end against his former team, scoring just five points on two-of-seven shooting. He did, however, grab a game-high nine rebounds. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 17 points on six-of-13 shooting.
