The Central Florida offense has been firing on all cylinders, as the Knights have a 28-7 lead over Ball State after the first half of the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl at Tropicana Field.
Quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Latavius Murray have been running the show for the Knights (9-4). Bortles completed 15 of 20 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns in the first 30 minutes, and he added a rushing touchdown. Murray rushed 15 times for 60 yards and a score, and he caught five passes for 23 yards, including both of Bortles' touchdowns. Breshad Perriman hauled in five catches for 90 yards.
Keith Wenning was 10 of 18 for 101 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals (9-3). Jahwan Edwards had six carries for 56 yards, and Zane Fakes caught three balls for 32 yards.
The Knights are playing for their second-ever bowl win. UCF defeated Georgia, 10-6, in the 2010 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Ball State is 0-5 all-time in bowl games.
