Several Florida teams were in action on Saturday. The marquee game on the day featured the Florida Gators, who fell behind early and were unable to claw their way back, dropping a decision to the Kansas State Wildcats, 67-61, in Kansas City. Patric Young had 19 points and ten rebounds, but the Wildcats finished the first half with a 16-4 run in the first half, and went on another run of 11-2 in the second to sink the Gators.

Elsewhere, Florida State played a close road contest against the Charlotte 49ers, winning 79-76. Charlotte held a five-point halftime lead, but the Seminoles opened the second half on an 18-5 run to reassert control and held on for the victory. Michael Snaer led Florida State with 30 points.

Florida International withstood a late Texas Southern rally to beat the Tigers, 48-45. The Golden Panthers held a nine-point lead with three minutes to go, before Texas Southern ended the game on a 9-2 run.

The Jacksonville Dolphins got 16 points from Jarvis Haywood and 14 from Dylan Fritsch, having no trouble defeating Furman, 65-53, in Jacksonville.

Finally, Florida Gulf Coast went north to New England, losing on the road to Maine, 84-78, despite 17 points from Sherwood Brown.
