Capital One Bowl 2013: Georgia in for letdown vs. Nebraska?

With the Dawgs coming so close to a chance at the national championship, the possibility exists that they will show up to the Capital One Bowl with their hearts not in the game.

Kevin C. Cox

The Georgia Bulldogs were one play away from clinching a spot in the BCS Championship Game, but ultimately fell just short. They ended up falling out of the BCS entirely, all the way down to the Capital One Bowl, where they'll face the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Perhaps the biggest question going into the game is whether the Bulldogs will be focused on their opponent, rather than what could have been.

If the Dawgs appear disinterested the way Alabama did against Utah in the 2009 Sugar Bowl, Nebraska has the ability to make it a long afternoon, especially running the ball. However, if Georgia shows up with their heads in the game, they should be able to put away Nebraska fairly easily. The Huskers have their own potential mental issues to deal with themselves, as they have to put behind them a 70-31 drubbing in the Big Ten title game at the hands of Wisconsin.

The Capital One Bowl will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on New Year's Day and will be shown nationally on ABC.
