Navy wideout Brandon Turner has accepted an invitation to play in the 2013 East-West Shrine Game. Turner finished his career for Navy in Saturday's Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, where he scored a 23-yard touchdown. The Midshipmen lost to Arizona State, 62-28.
Though on an option-read, run-first team, Turner has increased his production every year at Navy. He increased his catches from 14 to 22 between his junior and senior seasons, and scored a career-high four touchdowns in 2012. His overall numbers in three seasons are 40 catches, 734 yards and 8 TDs. Denoting his big-play ability is the fact that in all three of his collegiate seasons, Turner has had at least one touchdown catch go for 49 yards or more.
The East-West Shrine Game will be held on Jan. 19 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game is put on annually by the fraternal group Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.
