The No. 10 South Carolina Gamecocks will take on the No. 18 Michigan Wolverines in the 2013 Outback Bowl on New Year's Day. After opening as 4-point favorites, the Gamecocks are now 5 1/2-point favorites, according to OddsShark. The total is at 48 points.
South Carolina (10-2, 6-2 SEC) enters the game on a four-game winning streak and boasts one of the nation's top defenses, led by defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. The Gamecocks have done very well against the spread so far this season, sporting a record of 8-4.
Michigan (8-4, 6-2 Big Ten) is coming off a tough 26-21 loss at the hands of rival Ohio State. The Wolverines also have an excellent defense, as well as a potent quarterback duo of Denard Robinson and Devin Gardner. However, despite being 8-4 overall, Michigan has gone just 5-7 against the spread this year.
These two teams have played just twice in their history, with Michigan winning the last meeting in 1985.
