Tracy Howard Commits To Miami Over Florida, Florida State

Tracy Howard, ranked as a four or five star recruit by almost every service, has committed to play for the Hurricanes, announcing the news on television on National Signing Day 2012. Howard, who played for Miramar High School (Fla.), chose Miami over Florida and Florida State, the two other finalists for his services.

"I chose the University of Miami, because I look at the overall picture of it, from the academic standpoint to the opportunity standpoint," Howard said, "I've got a great bond with the coaches."

Howard had zeroed in on Miami on National Signing Day after also considering Florida and Florida State. Howard was considered a Florida lean for a very long time, so this is a big coup for Al Golden and the Hurricanes.

Howard was the second-highest defensive back in the Rivals rankings, trailing only Shaq Thompson of Sacramento, California. He joins a Miami squad that is almost always flush with talented defensive backs.
