According to Craig Davis of SunSentinal.com, Tiger Woods has announced that he will participate in a pair of golf tournaments in South Florida the first two weeks of March. He will first participate in the Honda Classic held March 1-4 at the PGA National course in Palm Beach Gardens, located about 20 minutes away from his current residence. It will be his first appearance in this tournament since 1993 when Woods was an amateur. The tournament that year was held at the Westin Hills Golf & Country Club.
In a statement, Woods says that the involvement of Jack Nicklaus is one of the reasons why he's participating in this tournament.
I have heard great things about the Honda Classic. Now that I live here I want to play whenever possible. Jack's [Nicklaus] involvement in the tournament and the benefits to the local community are also important
Woods will also participate in the WGC-Cadillac Championship at the TPC Blue Monster in Doral the following week, March 8-11.
