The Florida Gators pulled in a pretty strong recruiting class, but it was very heavy on defensive prospects, especially considering that they were already a little bit thin at wide receiver heading into the next year. Losing out on Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs who was considered to be a Florida lean for a while doesn't help. But they aren't done.
According to Richard Obert of AZ Central, the Gators have started to get in on the recruiting of explosive wide receiver Davonte' Neal. But the Gators, along with the other teams that are recruiting Neal, will have to wait little while to find out his intentions.
Neal won't narrow his list any before Feb. 21 when he plans to sign his letter of intent at the same time he announced his college choice during a news conference at his former Ahwatukee elementary school. Davonte said he chose to do it there because that is where football began for him.
Neal is the exact type of player that the Gators would love to bring in, but getting in on his recruitment this late in the process will probably hurt them.
