As All-Star Weekend in Orlando begins Friday evening, a lot of trade questions are being asked now about the biggest star of the host city Dwight Howard. The trade deadline is looming at the end of the festivities and while Howard was asked about it, nothing new came out in an interview with Pro Basketball Talk's Kurt Helin.
The situation we are in right now is All-Star Weekend. That's the only thing that matters right now. This is for the fans and we're going to enjoy ourselves. All that stuff can go on after the All-Star break.
Its not a huge surprise that Howard doesn't want the distractions of his trade rumors to take away from the All-Star Weekend. Even NBA commissioner David Stern didn't want this to distract from the festivitites.
I'm not going to allow this line of questioning to ruin the fact that Orlando is a spectacular city, having a wonderful All-Star Weekend. So I don't want to feed into a heightened sense of deprivation because Orlando is anything but deprived.
So in short, just enjoy All-Star Weekend and let the chips fall where they may when Monday rolls around.
