Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: Of Course The Knicks Are Hypothetically In The Mix

The always on-top-of-it Tom Ziller of SB Nation brings to attention a Dwight Howard trade column today from the New York Post's Peter Vescey. Not surprisingly, Vecsey is mentioning the possibility of the New York Knicks being interested in trading for Orlando's Dwight Howard. From Vecsey's column:

"I'm positive the Knicks have called just in case Dwight changes up," an Eastern Conference GM said. "I'm sure they've offered a combination of everybody, excluding Jeremy Lin, of course. Otis deserves a lot of credit for not putting it out on the street which teams have offered what."

I particularly enjoy Ziller's response to the unnamed GM quote Vecsey used:

Amar'e Stoudemire? Pfft. Carmelo Anthony? Ha! Tyson Chandler? Go ahead. Jeremy Lin -- Jeremy Lin -- is the only untouchable on the Knicks roster? I mean, I know it would be suicidal for the franchise to trade the marketing entity that is Lin, even if the basketball properties of Lin-for-Dwight are so insulting as to be laughable. But that's where we are.

Try to enjoy the All-Star Game, Magic fans. Because this Dwight Howard trade nonsense isn't going away anytime soon.
