Lexi Thompson, a local 16-year-old golf prodigy, is set to start her first LPGA season Thursday, as she will compete in the Women's Australian Open this upcoming weekend. Thompson, who's soon to be 17-years-old has already claimed two professional victories, says she's ready to go.
↵↵↵"I'm ready to play," said the 16-year old Thompson to Jeff Shain of the Orlando Sentinel.

Thompson, who turned pro at the age of 15, and already claimed a 10th place tie at the 2009 U.S. Women's Open, and last year become the youngest winner on the LPGA and Women's European Tour.
↵This year she's looking to take he game to the next level.
↵↵↵"We couldn't be more excited for her," said her father Scott Thompson to the Sentinel, "but I think there's more ahead. She's still growing and learning this game. I think it's going to get more exciting."
