Kings Vs. Lightning Recap: Two Unanswered Goals Give Los Angeles A 3-1 Win Over Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Lightning fell one game below .500 on Monday night as they lost 3-1 at home to the Los Angeles Kings. LA scored two unanswered goals in the second period and All-Star goalie Jonathan Quick stymied any momentum the Bolts were looking to carry over from this weekend's win over the Florida Panthers.

Quick stopped 24 of 25 shots that the Lightning fired at him. Only Steven Stamkos was able to break through against his fellow All-Star. Stammer netted his 35th of the season in the second period to even it up at 1-1. He continues to lead the league, with five more than Evgeni Malkin, who is second on the list. But Quick stopped several good scoring chances that both Stamkos and Martin St. Louis had in the third period as the Bolts were unable to get back into it.

They now look to get back on the winning track as they travel to Madison Square Garden on Thursday to face the Eastern Conference leading New York Rangers.
