The Miami Hurricanes winning ways continued on Thursday night, as the Canes won their fifth ACC game in a row. Jim Larranaga's club carried over the momentum from the huge road win over Duke on Sunday to defeat the Virginia Tech Hokies 65-49. Reggie Johnson, who was an absolute monster against the Blue Devils, led Miami with 15 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
Kenny Kadji and Shane Larkin backed up Johnson. Larkin was three of six from behind the arc and finished with 14 points. Kadji added 11 points but was just three of nine from the field. Seth Greenberg's club is at the bottom of the conference this season, and shot just 31 percent in a game where the Canes had a comfortable lead for much of the night.
Miami is now one of a group of teams just one game out of first place in the ACC in the loss column. The Canes now travel up to Tallahassee to face a Florida State team also competing for first place,
