In the first two match ups between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Florida Gators in the regular season, the Wildcats pounded the Gators both times to the tune of near 20 point victories in both games. In the SEC Tournament Semifinal however, the Gators came out aggressive and put the Wildcats' back against the wall and taking a 10 point lead at one point. Kentucky was able to rally back however and take the lead before halftime 40-39 after trailing the entire first half.
The Wildcats rallied back forcing the Gators to take some bad shots, grabbing the defensive rebounds, and sinking some critical late three-point shots. Anthony Davis leads the Wildcats in scoring at the half with 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Deron Lamb and Marquis Teague picked up nine and eight points respectively.
Despite leading Kentucky the vast majority of the first half, the Gators went scoreless in the last 4:20 of the first half to surrender the lead. Bradley Beal has carried the load for Florida with 12 points and 6 rebounds while Erik Murphy and Patric Young both adding eight points. Florida has taken quite a bit of three-point shots, but with their lack of size they have to, shooting 45.5 percent so far from beyond the arc.
