Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: Magic Trying To Acquire Asset To Keep Howard Long-Term, According To Report

The Orlando Magic will spend the next two days trying to acquire a difference-making player that would persuade Dwight Howard to sign with the Magic for the long-term, according to a report from ESPN. Chris Broussard and Marc Stein reported on Monday night that the Magic will first be buyers, before becoming potential sellers on the deadline day, Thursday, and entertaining further deals Howard.

There are few details about potential targets for the Magic at this point, with some rumblings that they're keen on adding Golden State's Monta Ellis. But it doesn't appear that the Warriors are interested in any package the Magic could offer at this point - particularly one that doesn't include Howard landing in the Bay Area. One thing is for sure, it will be a wild three days for the Magic front office.
