The Orlando Magic are walking a very tight line this trading season. They have to decide whether or not to trade Dwight Howard or try to pieces around him to entice him to stay with the Magic. The latest rumor has Otis Smith attempting the latter. According to Ken Berger at CBS vis the guys at SB Nation, the Magic are exploring a three-team trade that would land Monta Ellis in Orlando.
The Warriors would get Bogut from the Bucks and send Ellis to Orlando as part of the Magic's efforts to persuade Dwight Howard that they are prepared to continue surrounding him with top-flight talent. The Magic are exploring multiple scenarios to upgrade their roster in the hopes that Howard would then relent on his strategy to opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
It is hard to know that the Magic could give up that would entice the Bucks to give Bogut to the Warriors, but Ellis would be a good fit for the Magic as a guy who can create his own shot and take control of games.
