2012 Sony Ericsson Open: Scoring Update

Day three of the Sony Ericsson Open is underway at the in Miami, FL. The tournament is still in its early stages, but the action is only getting better.

On the men's side of the tournament, American Ryan Harrison dropped the first set in a tiebreaker, but won the last two sets to advance over Italian Potito Starace 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-4. Other winners so far currently include Igor Kunitsyn, Albert Ramos and Lukasz Kubot.

On the women's side of the tournament, now in the second round, Serena Williams currently leads China's Zhang Shuai in the second set 6-2, 4-2. Belgian Kim Clijsters also score an upset victory over German Julia Goerges, the No. 14 ranked player in the world, 6-2, 7-5. Other second round winners on Thursday include No. 12 Sabine Lisicki and No. 21 Roberta Vinci. No. 13 ranked player Jelena Jankovich was upset by German Mona Barthel 6-0, 6-3. Still to play later this afternoon is No. 4 Caroline Wozniacki, No. 2 Maria Sharapova and No. 8 Li Na.

The tournament runs through March 31 and tickets are still available.
