No. 1 Florida (22-2) and No. 4 Florida State (21-3) will meet for the second time this season, after the Gators took the first of the Sunshine Showdown Series 9-3 in Gainesville 9-2 on March 13. Tuesday's game will move to Jacksonville, where the 'Noles have won four straight against the Gators, and seven in a row in neutral site meetings.
Both teams enter with momentum, winning weekend series against Wake Forest (FSU) and South Carolina (UF). FSU will start junior right hander Scott Sitz (1-1) for the third time this season. Florida will start right hander Greg Larson (3-0), for the first time this season. Larson has allowed just two earned runs in 18.0 innings this season and boasts a 1.00 ERA.
