Saturday in Miami will see a Women's Singles champion crowned at the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open, as No. 5 Agnieszka Radwanska will take on No. 2 Maria Sharapova. Both Sharapova and Radwanska are looking to win their first career Sony Ericsson Open trophy, as well as the $712,000 winner's check that will be handed to the 13th woman in history to win the event.
Radwanska earned a spot in the final by defeating Marion Bartoli, who had upset No. 1-ranked Victoria Azarenka. Radwanska is 0-4 versus Azarenka this season, but 25-0 against the rest of the tour.
Sharapova advanced to the final after a hard fought 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Caroline Wozniacki. This will be the fourth finals appearance in Miami for the three-time Grand Slam champion Sharapova, having lost in 2005, 2008 and 2011.
Another championship will be earned Saturday as well, in men's doubles, when the No. 7 team of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek will take on take on No. 2 Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi. Paes and Stepanek upset the top-seeded Bryan brothers in the semifinals.
The day's action begins on the stadium court at 12:30 p.m. ET.
