MEAC Tournament 2012 Schedule: Florida A&M Takes On Coppin State In Opening Round

Florida A&M will have a difficult time navigating their way through the bracket as a No. 11 seed.

The Conference Tournament season is well under way, and the MEAC Conference tournament gets started later this morning. Here is a look at all the games that will be played today, but you can check out the complete bracket here.

The first game of the day features No. 8 Hampton and No. 9 Morgan State. Neither of these teams was overly impressive in or out of conference, as both finished with 6-10 marks inside the MEAC. That game starts at 11 am.

No. 7 seed North Carolina A&T takes on No. 10 seed Howard in the second game of the day starting at 1:30. North Carolina A&T finished this season at 12-19 overall while Howard was just 9-20.

Next up is the always dangerous MEAC 5-12 game between N.C. Central (No. 5) and Maryland Eastern Shore (No. 12). N.C. Central was 10-6 in Conference, while Maryland Eastern Shore was only 4-12. That game starts at 4 pm.

The 6:30 game is between No. 4 seed Bethune-Cookman and No. 13 seed South Carolina State. Bethune-Cookman should be the favorite pretty easily considering S.C. State finished without a win in Conference this year.

The final game of the day features Florida A&m taking on the No. 6 seed Coppin State. Coppin State will be the favorite, but Florida A&M only finished three games worse than them in Conference, so this could be an upset.
