UCF baseball is off to one of its best starts in program history at 10-2 and finds itself ranked 18th in the latest Baseball America standings. The Knights welcome the 12th-ranked Florida State Seminoles to Orlando for a two-game series that could help propel the Knights to a more prominent national baseball presence.
The tale of the tape between the two schools to date is as follows:
Florida State has not traveled to Orlando to play UCF since 1988 and both games are expected to be sellouts at recently renovated Jay Bergman Field. UCF is on a six-game winning streak coming off a perfect 5-0 week with wins over Florida State, Bethune Cookman, and a sweep of Siena. UCF is led in hitting by pre-season All-American D.J. Hicks who is hitting .395 with a team-leading five home runs and Chris Talladay who leads the Knights with a .408 average.
