After leading the South Florida Bulls to a surprising 19-12 season, including a 12-6 Big East record, head coach Stan Heath was named the 2012 Big East Coach of the Year Tuesday evening.
↵This is the second time he has won a Coach of the Year award, as Heath earned MAC Coach of the honors for the 2001-2002 season after leading Kent State to a 30-6 record.
↵After being predicted to finish 14th in the Big East Preseason Media Poll, the Bulls shocked many to finish the regular season tied for fourth in the conference.
↵Last season, the Bulls were 10-23 and finished 15th in the Big East. South Florida currently sits on the bubble of the NCAA Tournament, and begins play in the Big East Tournament Wednesday against the winner of tonight's Louisville-Rutgers game.
