After one half in Charlotte, the Orlando Magic lead the Bobcats by five. The Magic are playing on the second night of a road back-to-back, looking to build off their win in Toronto last night. Orlando held the lowly Bobcats to just 15 points in the first quarter, but Charlotte cut a 10-point Magic lead to just five at the half.
No Magic player is in double figures yet but J.J. Redick came off the bench for Stan Van Gundy and immediately drilled two three-pointers for a quick six. Quetin Richardson also came off the bench to hit his two attempts from downtown. As a team, the Magic hit eight of 18 attempts from behind the arc. But they were a little sloppy in the second, committing nine turnovers through the first 24 minutes to keep Charlotte close. Dwight Howard has six boards and six points so far, after a monster 36-point performance last night.
Orlando will look to step up the defensive pressure and re-assert themselves after a rough second quarter against the worst team in the league.
