It was by-and-large a chalky day during the first round of the 2012 SEC Tournament. Each top seed advanced in the first three games before a nightcap upset by Georgia sent Mississippi State home packing early, and could certainly have ended their hopes of an NCAA tournament berth. Action picks up early again on Friday from New Orleans, with No. 1 seeded and No. 1 ranked Kentucky tipping off against LSU at 1 p.m eastern.
The Florida Gators take the floor during the second game of the afternoon session, and they will face the No. 5 seeded Alabama Crimson Tide. Florida defeated the Tide in their only meeting of the season and they will look roll once again for potential semifinal showdown with the Wildcats.
