It wasn't the best start for the Florida Panthers, as the New Jersey Devils opened Game 3 at the Prudential Center with three consecutive goals, building a hefty three-goal lead. But quickly, the Panthers climbed back into it.
With just under four minutes left, left winger Sean Bergenheim scored on a power-play goal. His shot was soon followed by another power-play goal from Jason Garrison, as Florida came back to trail just 3-2 at the end of the first period. Garrison's goal was particularly timely, as it came with less than 10 seconds left.
Florida finished the period with 10 shots on goal, compared to seven from New Jersey.
