Dwight Howard Won't Play For Stan Van Gundy, According To Report

As the Dwight Howard saga with the Orlando Magic and head coach Stan Van Gundy continues to turn, as reports have now surfaced that Howard no longer wishes to play for Van Gundy according to a report by David Pingalore of Local News 6 in Orlando.

Pingalore has learned Wednesday from multiple NBA and team sources that Howard called Magic Owner Rich DeVos Friday night, telling the 86-year-old that he will no longer play for head coach Stan Van Gundy.

Pingalore was told through sources that have direct knowledge of the call that it was taken in the DeVos suite at Amway Center by DeVos sometime during the Magic's game with the Atlanta Hawks.

There were reports earlier in the month that Howard had asked to that Van Gundy be fired in order for him to return to the Magic and it looks like there was a lot of truth to that, especially with Van Gundy starting he knew about it. With the new report, it sounds as if one of either Howard or Van Gundy won't be back with the Magic for the 2012 season.
