Recognize him? According to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times, the fan that got in Pena's way happened to be former NBA player Matt Geiger. Geiger played for 10 seasons with the Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers before a knee injury in 2002 forced him to retire.

The 7-footer, who is now a real estate investor, was ejected for reaching out into the field of play and interfering with Pena as per MLB rules.

Although Geiger was able to pull down 3,158 rebounds in his NBA career, this was one loose ball fans would like to have seen him not get to.
