The Indiana Pacers might have homecourt advantage, but the Orlando Magic appear more than comfortable midway through Game 1 of the best-of-seven series, leading the host Pacers, 51-44, at halftime at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
A strong second quarter helped propel Orlando, as it outscored Indiana by eight points in the period and managed to build a seven-point lead at the half. Defense, even without Dwight Howard, has kept the group in control, as they have held the Pacers to under 40 percent shooting. Center Roy Hibbert had just eight points over 17 minutes, and only one player for Indiana is in double figures-- David West with 13 points.
Leading the Magic has been Glen Davis, Jameer Nelson and Jason Richardson, as the trio has combined for 30 points and hope to steal a game in Indianapolis.
