The Tampa Bay Rays avenged their Saturday loss to the Texas Rangers with a win on Sunday in Arlington to take the series.
Tampa rode the hot bat of Ben Zobrist who had three hits in his four plate appearances and was a homerun short of completing the cycle in the game. B.J. Upton and Jeff Keppinger had two hits apiece and as a team, the Rays had a total of 11 hits in the game.
David Price went six and one-third innings in the game giving up six hits while striking out six Rangers batters and walking one.
For Texas, they were just never able to get things going offensively against Tampa's pitching. Things did get exciting in the bottom of the ninth inning and Texas found themselves batting with the bases loaded and two outs. But Yorvit Torrealba was unable to come away with the big hit, leaving the Rangers to go just one for eight with runners in scoring position in the game.
