Van Gundy, who coached the Magic to an Eastern Conference championship in 2009, has been at odds with Howard at times this season. Howard was asked not long after this report broke if it was true. The star quickly denied having asked to have Van Gundy fired.
Dwight now denying he asked for Stan to be fired. Asked reporters to give up their source. Hey genius, the source is Stan

This report breaks at a time where the Orlando Magic are hard at work trying to go into the playoffs with a good record and some momentum. A story like this could be a huge distraction for not only player and coach, but for the team as they try to contend in the Eastern Conference against the likes of the Miami Heat.
