Hedo Turkoglu Injury Update: Magic Forward May Need Surgery, According To Reports

The Magic forward may be out for longer than expected.

After suffering a nasty facial injury on Thursday night, Brian K. Schultz of the Orlando Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu may need surgery to repair multiple fractures in his right cheek bone.

Turkoglu suffered the injury during the game against the New York Knicks when an errant elbow hit him under his right eye. Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy had told the media that the injury wasn't expected to keep him out for a long time, however the need for surgery may change his timetable for a return. He has already been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Turkoglu is averaging 10.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg in 52 games this season.
